Our farm is where we planted our first six acres of hops. It is where we learned everything we know about taking care of the plants and helping them reach their full beer bittering and aromatic potential. The passion we have for hops is replicated around us by the rapidly growing Michigan Hop industry and appreciated by the craft beer renaissance in West Michigan.

Before hops, our farm was home to the Hartwell Angus Ranch and before that the Hartwell Dairy Farm. The Hartwell dairy barn from the 1950s stands proud on our farm along Egypt Valley Ave. The rough-sawn pasture posts and fence row shrubs compliment the barn while reminding us of the land’s rich farming history. As Grand Rapids continues to grow and the old rolling farm land of Cannon Township is developed into beautiful residential estates, we’re proud to pursue our passion for hops while maintaining a little piece of the area’s farming history.
